A Note from your CMSA President

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. This year has been a very different year for all. CMSA is still here for you as support and resources even though we cannot meet at this time. I hope everyone is thoughtful about getting the new vaccine when you are able and still practicing social distance with mask.

The only new thing to tell you is the CMSA Middle TN board met and we are working on virtual presentations, so if you are interested in doing a presentation please contact Elizabeth McAllister @ egravesmca@icloud.com. This is new to all of us so stay tuned.

Until we are able to meet again. Be safe have a blessed Christmas and New Years.

A Note from your
CMSA President

I want to thank all of the Case Managers that work in many different capacities for all of the hard work, patient/family support you give to your clients and patients. You work hard to assist with high quality of care and expertise. Through the years we have grown to be a highly sought after discipline. I personally have seen the growth, recognition and respect that we have now as compared to when I first started in Case Management. I hope you are all enjoying the recognition that National Case Management week is bringing you. For all of our sponsors that promote out chapter and our members; I want to thank you too. Please do not forget to appreciate your Case Managers that you work with.

I am looking forward to the day we can meet person to person again. I miss you all.

Have a wonderful Case Management Week.

I hope everyone is doing well and so are your families. These are challenging times for everyone. I want you to know that you CMSA chapter understands and supports you all. As you know we are still observing COVID-19 precautions which does not permit us using conference rooms to gather, therefore; we are still not having our lunch and learns until further notice. I trust this will not stop your support as sponsors and individual members. Please continue to support us for when we are able to resume normal meetings.

I just wanted to make reach out and let you know that your CMSA chapter is still here and functioning, just not as we once did.

Thank you again for all of your support.

A note from your
CMSA President

The last weeks and months have been challenging with a lot going on in the media and Covid-19. Phase 3 will be approaching soon. But for now we are still unable to have lunch and learns until everything is open again. Until then as we receive education opportunities we are trying to get them on our web page. The 30 CMSA Conference that was scheduled for Boston has had to be cancelled, however; the board has been working hard to be able to present a virtual conference earning up to 71 credits. The URL is URL https://conference.cmsa.org/. Below is an email sent out by Eric Bergman CMSA Chapter Presidents’ Council Representative.
Picture
And we will still have many of the events and activities we have come to love and expect from our Annual Conference – an interactive vendor hall, prizes and giveaways, and an opening party. We will also have our annual meeting with Chapter Excellence, Case Manager of the Year, and other awards. It will be a wonderful conference in a new format, which can be enjoyed right from your own home or office.
I hope you all are taking good care of yourselves and families and are well. Please remember to observe social distancing, handwashing and mask. And that we are all valuable and worthy of love.

Missing you all, Kathy

A Note from your
CMSA President

The last few months have been taxing on all of us, but I trust you are all well and your families are well. Many functions  and activities have had to be cancelled to include the yearly CMSA Conference in Boston. We have also been unable to do our monthly lunch and learns. There will be none in May. As the state is slowly opening up we will have to play the waiting game to see if we will be able to have June’s meeting. Be assure that your local board has not forgotten you.

May has been a month to celebrate nurses, hospital week, and Florence Nightingale 200th birthday. I know a lot of you are working from home but if you have a chance don’t forget to celebrate your nurses and hospital worker connections.

Until we are able to meet again, keep safe and take care.

Kathern Demicell, RNCCM
President of CMSA Middle Tennessee Chapter

A Note from your
CMSA President

Hello everyone, I hope this finds you all in good health and taking care of yourself and your families. This time has been very stressful and we are still not sure when it may end or what each day brings. I have been so pleased with the community support for all of the  healthcare providers  that keeps our patients cared for.  I want to highlight Amedisys Home Health for the posters they posted at Centennial Medical Center that was encouraging to all of the staff as we entered the building. As an HCA Tri-Star Case Manager I am especially proud of the caring and diligence of the staff at my hospital for the care they provide for patients and the support for each other. I also want to thank the community for their support and acknowledgment of the other essential staff at grocery stores, trucking, and food service and how important they are to all of us.
Because of continued restrictions we will NOT be having a lunch and learn in April. With God’s blessings we will have one in May. And it will be wonderful to see everyone again. We will keep you posted. I want to add that at this time National CMSA is still planning the yearly education June 28-July 2, 2020 celebrating 30 years of Care Transitions Across the Full Continuum. They have extended the early bird registration.
I have good news that we have two new board members that have joined us and when we meet again they will be introduced.
Until we meet again may God bless you all and keep you and yours safe.

Kathern Demicell, RNCCM
President of CMSA Middle Tennessee Chapter

A Note from your
CMSA President

The responses I received from January’s lunch
and learn was positive. It sounded like everyone enjoyed a meet and great session. The board discussed this in the past and we hope to be able to offer it again. It is a good time for vendors and Case Manager as well as Social Workers to network. Again I want to thank everyone that attended.
We are still happy for sponsors and individual memberships to join us. We are also in need of more board members so if you are interested in participating as a board member please see me. We always try to have CMSA information  and sponsor/individual packets out for you to pick up that will hopefully prompt you to  join. If you are an individual member that has not had a chance to renew your membership please know that  a discount code EXPAND2020 can be used  to save $20 off National Memberships expires 02/29/2020.
As always thank you for all of your support and I will see you February 19,2020 for our monthly lunch and learn.

A Note from your
CMSA President

The last year 2019 went by fast and may have been a strained year for many. We now have a new year with 2020 double digit year with hopes of double prosperity in all aspects. I am confident the coming year will mean more individuals and companies  will share with our organization and benefit from the resources that CMSA has. It is a great organization for education, resources and networking. Coming June 28 thru July 2,2020 is the National CMSA convention celebrating 30 years of care transition across the  full continuum. If you are interested as a vendor or individual please go to www.CMSA.org  and see the website.
Starting a new year we are of course encouraging all to become members individually by going to CMSA.org or local  sponsors by using the cmsa-tn.org website for the middle Tennessee chapter.
As always I am so blessed and grateful to be your President and looking forward to another year with you. January’s meeting will be a meet and great time and we hope you all enjoy from the entire CMSA Middle Tennessee Chapter.
