A Note from your
CMSA President

I hope everyone is doing well and so are your families. These are challenging times for everyone. I want you to know that you CMSA chapter understands and supports you all. As you know we are still observing COVID-19 precautions which does not permit us using conference rooms to gather, therefore; we are still not having our lunch and learns until further notice. I trust this will not stop your support as sponsors and individual members. Please continue to support us for when we are able to resume normal meetings.

I just wanted to make reach out and let you know that your CMSA chapter is still here and functioning, just not as we once did.

Thank you again for all of your support.

Kathern Demicell, RNCCM
President of CMSA Middle Tennessee Chapter

A note from your
CMSA President

The last weeks and months have been challenging with a lot going on in the media and Covid-19. Phase 3 will be approaching soon. But for now we are still unable to have lunch and learns until everything is open again. Until then as we receive education opportunities we are trying to get them on our web page. The 30 CMSA Conference that was scheduled for Boston has had to be cancelled, however; the board has been working hard to be able to present a virtual conference earning up to 71 credits. The URL is URL https://conference.cmsa.org/. Below is an email sent out by Eric Bergman CMSA Chapter Presidents’ Council Representative.
Picture
And we will still have many of the events and activities we have come to love and expect from our Annual Conference – an interactive vendor hall, prizes and giveaways, and an opening party. We will also have our annual meeting with Chapter Excellence, Case Manager of the Year, and other awards. It will be a wonderful conference in a new format, which can be enjoyed right from your own home or office.
I hope you all are taking good care of yourselves and families and are well. Please remember to observe social distancing, handwashing and mask. And that we are all valuable and worthy of love.

Missing you all, Kathy

A Note from your
CMSA President

The last few months have been taxing on all of us, but I trust you are all well and your families are well. Many functions  and activities have had to be cancelled to include the yearly CMSA Conference in Boston. We have also been unable to do our monthly lunch and learns. There will be none in May. As the state is slowly opening up we will have to play the waiting game to see if we will be able to have June’s meeting. Be assure that your local board has not forgotten you.

May has been a month to celebrate nurses, hospital week, and Florence Nightingale 200th birthday. I know a lot of you are working from home but if you have a chance don’t forget to celebrate your nurses and hospital worker connections.

Until we are able to meet again, keep safe and take care.

Kathern Demicell, RNCCM
President of CMSA Middle Tennessee Chapter

A Note from your
CMSA President

Hello everyone, I hope this finds you all in good health and taking care of yourself and your families. This time has been very stressful and we are still not sure when it may end or what each day brings. I have been so pleased with the community support for all of the  healthcare providers  that keeps our patients cared for.  I want to highlight Amedisys Home Health for the posters they posted at Centennial Medical Center that was encouraging to all of the staff as we entered the building. As an HCA Tri-Star Case Manager I am especially proud of the caring and diligence of the staff at my hospital for the care they provide for patients and the support for each other. I also want to thank the community for their support and acknowledgment of the other essential staff at grocery stores, trucking, and food service and how important they are to all of us.
Because of continued restrictions we will NOT be having a lunch and learn in April. With God’s blessings we will have one in May. And it will be wonderful to see everyone again. We will keep you posted. I want to add that at this time National CMSA is still planning the yearly education June 28-July 2, 2020 celebrating 30 years of Care Transitions Across the Full Continuum. They have extended the early bird registration.
I have good news that we have two new board members that have joined us and when we meet again they will be introduced.
Until we meet again may God bless you all and keep you and yours safe.

Kathern Demicell, RNCCM
President of CMSA Middle Tennessee Chapter

A Note from your
CMSA President

The responses I received from January’s lunch
and learn was positive. It sounded like everyone enjoyed a meet and great session. The board discussed this in the past and we hope to be able to offer it again. It is a good time for vendors and Case Manager as well as Social Workers to network. Again I want to thank everyone that attended.

We are also in need of more board members so if you are interested in participating as a board member please see me. A Note from your

The last year 2019 went by fast and may have been a strained year for many. We now have a new year with 2020 double digit year with hopes of double prosperity in all aspects. I am confident the coming year will mean more individuals and companies  will share with our organization and benefit from the resources that CMSA has. If you are interested as a vendor or individual please go to www.CMSA.org  and see the website.
Starting a new year we are of course encouraging all to become members individually by going to CMSA.org or local  sponsors by using the cmsa-tn.org website for the middle Tennessee chapter.
As always I am so blessed and grateful to be your President and looking forward to another year with you. January’s meeting will be a meet and great time and we hope you all enjoy from the entire CMSA Middle Tennessee Chapter.

A Note from your
CMSA President

Let me start by saying how much I appreciate all of the support that all of our sponsors and CMSA members provide to this chapter. We have been blessed with some very good topics and speakers that have hopefully been enriching everyone. The feedback from those that attend has been very positive and appreciative and we humbly thank you. Keep coming as we finish this year and move into next year. If you are a sponsor and desire to get on the calendar to present a topic or to provide lunch please contact Elizabeth McAllister egravesmca@icloud.com, she will be happy to assist you and remember that the purpose of the monthly lunch and learn is to provide education, CMCEUs for certified CMs, RNs, SWs, resources and opportunities to network.
October 13 thru 19, 2019 is National Case Management Week. Please start thinking about what you can do to appreciate your Case Manager contacts and coworkers. We will of course acknowledge Case Managers at the October 16, 2019 Lunch and Learn. I also want to encourage any Case Managers that may not be a CMSA member to join, it is the most recognized and established society for Case Management and is open to Nurses and Social Workers. CMSA has made it financially friendly to join by having payment plans available and first time discounts. I hope to see more members on our roster. CMSA is also a way to reach out to Case Managers in other areas of the country when you have needs. I have been contacted by family and professionals in other states seeking resources or guidance. So, again a great network with plenty of resources.
Thank you again for all of your support, see you at the next Lunch and Learn September 18, 2019.
