“Spring shows up, switches things up, and keeps us guessing—kind of like healthcare—but somehow, we always find a way to grow through it.”
Happy Spring, everyone!
As we welcome this new season and reflect on Easter, I hope each of you had the opportunity to spend meaningful time with your family and friends. Spring always brings with it a sense of change, renewal, and a fresh start—something we can all appreciate both personally and professionally.
This time of year, reminds us of that growth often comes from transition. Whether it’s navigating the ever-changing weather (one day we’re bundled up, the next we’re enjoying sunshine!) or supporting our patients and families through their own seasons of change, your role as Case Managers and Social Workers continues to be essential, impactful, and deeply valued.
April also brings awareness to several important health observances that align closely with the work we do every day:
National Stress Awareness Month
National Anxiety Awareness Month
National Parkinson’s Awareness Month
Move More Month / Physical Wellness Month
Occupational Therapy Month
These observances serve as meaningful reminders of the importance of whole-person care—not just for our patients, but for ourselves as well. As professionals who give so much, it’s equally important to prioritize your own mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
I am also excited to share that CMSA Middle Tennessee continues to grow, and we are incredibly grateful for the engagement and support of our members and community partners. We have many exciting opportunities ahead, including the upcoming introduction of our Corporate Sponsorship Program. This will allow organizations to showcase their services, build stronger connections, and increase visibility among Case Managers across our region.
We also continue to strongly encourage individual CMSA memberships, especially for those seeking CEUs. The CMSA website offers a wide variety of educational resources and CEU opportunities designed to support your professional development and ongoing success.
As we move closer to the summer months, our Board will also experience a season of change. With that, we will be saying goodbye to someone very special to CMSA and our community.
Amy Walter, who is loved by so many, has resigned from CMSA and will also be leaving Senior Helpers after 16 years of dedicated service.
Amy has made a lasting impact on our seniors, families, and community, and she will be greatly missed. If you see Amy this month, please take a moment to give her a hug and thank her for all she has done over the years.
Amy, we wish you nothing but the best in this next chapter—you will always be part of the CMSA family.
I look forward to seeing everyone this month at our April Lunch & Learn—one of my favorite times to connect, learn, and grow together.
And as we continue into this season, I’ll leave you with this:
“Spring brings the change, healthcare brings the purpose—and while growth isn’t always easy, it’s always worth it, because someone is counting on us every single day.”
With gratitude,
Toni Collier
